Bakers & Baristas sits comfortably at the crossroads of a bustling cafe and casual restaurant in Artesia, offering a blend of bakery treats, brunch options, and carefully crafted coffee. The vibe strikes a balance between lively and laid-back, especially in the mornings when local runners and early risers pack the place for a strong cup and hearty breakfast.

The location on South Street can get busy quickly, particularly on weekends, with parking filling up early. This makes an early visit worthwhile if you prefer a quieter table or an easy spot to park. Inside, the atmosphere leans toward a modern neighborhood hangout where the chattering hum of coffee talk mixes with the scent of freshly baked goods.

The menu is an interesting melting pot of influences — from Asian touches like tapsilog and kimchi fried rice to New American favorites such as chicken & waffles and eggs arrabbiata. The food tends to offer solid portions with fresh, vibrant ingredients and a good dose of vegetables, catering well to those who want a balanced brunch rather than just indulgent treats.

Where Bakers & Baristas really garners repeat visits, though, is in its coffee and dessert offerings. Their Mexican mocha latte and vanilla bean latte stand out as locally appreciated drinks to sip while soaking in a morning catch-up or mid-afternoon break. Pastries like the black sesame frangipane croissant and matcha mousse cake showcase thoughtful pastry craftsmanship — a draw for people looking for something beyond the usual cafe sweets. The desserts, especially cakes like the milk & cereal cake and chocolate mousse varieties, cater well to those with a sweet tooth, although individual preferences on texture mean not everyone will be equally smitten.

The staff are known for being friendly and efficient, managing the weekend rush with a welcoming attitude. Whether you're popping in solo for a cortado or meeting friends for a brunch spread, the ambiance feels approachable and unpretentious — a place you might find locals unwinding after a morning run or catching up over an espresso and cake post-brunch.

Overall, Bakers & Baristas works best for those who appreciate a diverse menu with both savory and sweet options, coupled with high-quality coffee in a community-centered setting. Early mornings and weekday visits offer the smoothest experience, while the weekend scene fills with fitness-minded folks and brunch lovers looking to fuel up before the day. If your plan includes dessert and coffee more than a full meal, you’ll likely leave especially satisfied.

My first time here, here are some things you should know about this place. 1) Get there as soon as it opens; it gets busy. 2) On weekends, a lot of runners gather here for breakfast, so it's quite busy. 3) Parking fills up quickly, so arrive early. THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!! Desserts and food are so good. I had the breakfast bowl and it was just perfect, and all of our food was delicious. The place is very clean, with plenty of comfortable tables to sit on, and the atmosphere is nice and quiet, with friendly staff. To the Manager: Please add another register; the lines are getting too long; the wait time for a cup of coffee and some bread was about 35 minutes, and the line moves very slowly; especially on weekends, you need more employees and one more register to keep the line moving. Aside from that, you must visit this place for some delicious breakfast, and the portions are generous!!! I loved it. Yummy Healthy Breakfast here.

Great little spot found accidentally. I've only had their latte and a few pastries but they're fantastic. Service is nice, friendly and quick! Have gone back several times in 2 weeks.

One of my favorite spots in the city. Great drinks and fresh food. I always enjoy my experience here.

The food was good, but for the price, it felt a bit overpriced. Where they really shine is in their desserts and coffee — definitely the standout items. If you're stopping by, I’d recommend going for a sweet treat and a cup of coffee rather than a full meal.

This place has a weird business model but they have well crafted food. Came for brunch and was pleased with the flavors and amount of veggies and flavors in my bowl. My partner got avocado toast and thought it was delicious. I've been here after their brunch hours for drinks and dessert many times. Love the ambiance of the place. Don't love their cakes but that's personal texture preference.
